Disney has premiered a second trailer for new “Star Wars” series “The Acolyte” timed with “Star Wars Day” celebrations and the CCXP convention.
Set around fifty years before the events of “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” and towards the end of the High Republic era, the live-action series follows a former Jedi Padawan and her one-time Master.
An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.
Joonas Suotamo, Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto, Carrie-Anne Moss, Dean-Charles Chapman, Margarita Levieva, Charlie Barnett and Rebecca Henderson also star.
The series hails from creator Leslye Headland and will premiere its eight episodes exclusively on the Disney+ service.
The show precedes “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,” which is set in the Mandoverse time period, in December. They will be followed by the second season of “Andor” in early 2025.
