Fans have long spoken about his rumored involvement, now “Breaking Bad” actor Giancarlo Esposito has officially confirmed he’s joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Appearing on a panel at the CCXP convention in Mexico City (that expo’s first foray outside Brazil), Esposito confirmed he’ll be appearing in the MCU.
He indicates he will NOT be appearing in the role many fans have suggested for him (namely Professor X from “X-Men”), rather it’s a different role that will be new to the MCU (so not Kang) and adds that it’s coming “sooner rather than later”. He also says it’s “better than you can imagine”.
That ‘sooner’ would suggest a potential “Deadpool & Wolverine” cameo, or an appearance in the likes of “Fantastic 4,” “Thunderbolts*” or “Blade” if on film – or one of the upcoming Disney+ series.
Esposito has received two Emmy nominations for his performance as Moff Gideon in “The Mandalorian” series for Lucasfilm and has a recurring role as the CEO of Vought Industries on Amazon’s “The Boys”.
He was recently seen on TV in Netflix’s “The Gentlemen” series and AMC’s “Parish” and on film in horror feature “Abigail”. He’ll be seen later this year in the films “MaXXXine,” “The Electric State” and “Megalopolis”.
