Paramount Pictures’ psychological thriller “Apartment 7A,” a prequel to Roman Polanski’s famed 1968 horror feature “Rosemary’s Baby,” will go straight to Paramount+ this Halloween.
The film was shot back in mid-late 2022 and underwent reshoots back in April & May last year in what has been described as a troubled production.
Natalie Erika James (“Relic”) helms the film set in New York in 1965 and follows a struggling young dancer who suffers a devastating injury.
She finds herself drawn in by dark forces when a peculiar, well-connected, older couple promises her a shot at fame. It has been reported that the young character, Terry Gionoffrio, is the woman who dies at the beginning of “Rosemary’s Baby”.
Julia Garner, Dianne Wiest, Kevin McNally, Jim Sturgess, Maril Siu, Rosy McEwen, Amy Leeson and Scott Hume co-star with McNally playing Roman Castevet and Leeson playing Rosemary Woodhouse – characters from the original film and book source material.
James co-wrote the screenplay with Christian White and Skylar James.
