So here it is! The trailer for the 34th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – Deadpool & Wolverine.
The Time Variance Authority (TVA), the bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space and monitors the timeline, pulls Wade Wilson / Deadpool from his quiet life and sets him on a mission that will change the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, alongside his “frenemy” Wolverine.
Just prior to the trailer dropping. star Ryan Reynolds shared the post-credits scene from Deadpool 2 which showed Deadpool traveling through time to “clean up the timelines” which included rectifying some mistakes from Reynolds’ own filmography.
Among them was X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which starred Jackman and featured Reynolds as Wade Wilson. The film was widely panned, in particular for a climax and the famous mouth sowing scene.
Shawn Levy directs the helm of the new movie and it is the sole MCU movie this summer.
It marks Marvel Studios’ first R-rated film. Marvel boss Kevin Feige teased the project at CinemaCon earlier this month, where the usually clean-imaged executive brought out some F-bombs in honor of the R-rating, saying
“It’s fucking awesome.”
Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in theaters on July 26th.
