Filmmaker Zack Snyder has already teased that his sci-fi epic “Rebel Moon” could be getting a third part. It turns out his plans go far beyond that.
In a recent interview with RadioTimes coming ahead of the second part launching on Netflix on Friday, Snyder discussed the overall plan of the series and just how much of a story he wishes to tell. It turns out a trilogy ain’t enough for Snyder:
“I guess four makes sense. Four or six movies, depending. I guess it’s whether or not every time we make one of these movies, we make two, that’s the question.”
Indeed, it seems that audience expectation for two-part films from this saga is what keeps him up at night:
“We were talking about it the other day and I was like, would an audience be disappointed if they only got one movie now from Rebel Moon? Would they be like, ‘Oh, it’s one now? Great.’”
Whatever the case, the third film in the franchise has yet to be officially greenlit even as Snyder seems to have it all mapped out:
“We absolutely have the story all set; we did all that work. We wrote a treatment for the movie, so we’ll see how we go ahead.”
The comments come as “Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver” is set to launch imminently on Netflix, along with the reviews which aren’t expected to be great considering the first part’s reaction.
Snyder also spoke with Happy Sad Confused and revealed he met with Leonardo DiCaprio for the role of Lex Luthor in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”. Whilst it didn’t go beyond that, he added that DiCaprio had “a lot of great ideas” in the meeting.
