With the DC Universe getting underway with the currently filming “Superman,” the last vestiges of Zack Snyder’s DCEU are being swept away.
That likely includes his dream of at least one more “Justice League” film as he originally intended. Fans have also been petitioning for Snyder’s DC Universe to be revived on Netflix even as it’s almost certainly not going to happen.
In the latest issue of Empire (via Screen Rant) though, Snyder was asked one possibility that might remain open – would he want to finish his “Justice League” trilogy in animated form if he was given the option.
Snyder says he’d be up for that: “Yeah, absolutely. That’d be fun. That’d be cool.”
Whilst he’s open to it, Snyder isn’t actively pushing for more work in DC these days as he’s been busy with Netflix and has the second of his “Rebel Moon” films arriving on the streamer next week.
As previously been indicated, Snyder’s trilogy would’ve seen Lex Luthor and Darkseid come in to play and Lois is killed – leading to Superman being corrupted by the Anti-Life Equation and set up the Knightmare future which would be the focus of the third film as Flash travels back in time to reverse everything that happened.
As such, all we’ll likely get of his vision is “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” which is available on Max and digital platforms.
