Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy, and Danny Woodburn have all joined the cast of the fourth season of Netflix’s fantasy series “The Witcher”.
“District 9” and “Monkey Man” star Copley will play the infamous soldier turned bounty hunter Leo Bonhart who finds pleasure in watching brutal scenes and inflicting pain on others.
“Altered Carbon” and “Sex Education” actor Purefoy will play high-ranking spy Stefan Skellen, aka The Tawny Owl, a Nilfgaardian coroner and member of the Imperial Secret Service. He serves court advisor to Nilfgaardian Emperor Emhyr var Emreis.
“Seinfeld” and “CSI” alum Woodburn will play Zoltan Chivay, the dwarf character from the novels and video games and the one who gave Geralt his sword.
They join previously announced cast members which include Liam Hemsworth taking over the lead role of Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill, as well as Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, and Laurence Fishburne.
Filming on the new season begins this spring and follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other.
If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire — and finding one another again.
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich serves as the creator, showrunner, and executive producer.
