The best part of a horror movie is the unexpected scares, spooks, and plot twists that await you as you watch it. That appeal has a limit, and an obvious one at that: once you know what’s to come, the impact is lessened quite a bit. You can still enjoy the film, but you’ll have to admit that part of the appeal is gone.
This is why horror fans are always ready and waiting for new and improved movies to come out in theatres, particularly when approaching the spooky season. Not all of the movies we’ve gathered here are released this year, sadly, but there are enough entries to keep you awake at night.
