AR Content, Vertigo and Blumhouse Atomic Monster are teaming on a remake of Stéphan Castang’s acclaimed 2023 French Belgian thriller “Vincent Must Die”.
The original genre-bending thriller earned critical acclaim at Cannes and followed a graphic designer who lives a quiet life in Lyon, France when one day he suddenly finds himself under physical attack by anyone who makes eye contact with him.
It starts with his coworkers and soon expands out into the wider community. He eventually meets Margaux, a waitress who seems to be the only person not out to kill him.
Karim Leklou, Vimala Pons and François Chattot starred in the original which scored multiple award nominations at various European awards ceremonies and sits at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The remake will be penned and directed by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, a genre veteran and writer/producer on films like “Orphan,” “Aquaman” and most recently “Insidious: Out of the Further”.
The project will mark Johnson-McGoldrick’s directorial debut. Alexander Rodnyansky, Michael Kupisk, Roy Lee and Michael Clear will produce.
