While times might be bleak, there’s always a moment to remember that, beyond all of the geopolitical troubles of our world, it still remains a beautiful place. We’ve been blessed with the opportunity to see and behold places of unique beauty without leaving the comfort of our homes, and I don’t know about you, but I’m going to make the best of it.
Of course, if you have the opportunity, you should visit the following places in person, since the magic of seeing them first hand is irreplaceable. For those of us that can’t make it, though, the vivid photos of these places will have to suffice.

Hotel in Norway
Walls made of glass often make us feel unsafe, but when what surrounds you is the great landscapes of Norway, there’s little to be afraid of and plenty to enjoy.

Floating House
Another Norwegian house, in this case one that floats above the ground to enjoy the view of the treetops. Not ideal for bad weather, but perfect for a nice evening out.

Rugged Peaks
Hiking trails can end up looking stunning, even on cloudy days. In fact, the clouds accentuate the majestic aspect of the mountain, since its peak touches the low-hanging clouds.

Rising Plane
We’ve come far in terms of technology, to the point that having flying machines is something we take for granted. This impressive Dutch F-16 is a clear statement of that.

Quiet Church
Not every scene needs to be action-packed, and this church here is an example of that. The barren area and few houses make the place look comfy in a small town sort of way.

Magical Sunset
There’s a beauty to the setting sun that can be enjoyed anywhere in the world, and almost no matter the setting, it will be beautiful. Having a more nature-filled backdrop certainly helps.

Oh Deer
This deer is likely glancing all around, being wary of predators, but at least in this picture it looks like it’s enjoying the view. And who knows, it might be doing just that.

Horseshoe Bend
Known as one of the most photographed places in the world, Horseshoe Bend lives up to its reputation. Just be sure to take it all in and, when taking your picture, see that no other tourists are in sight.

Snow Tree
Snow has a way of making any scenery almost magical, likely due to how it turns everything into a blank canvas. This dry tree is almost like a statement that life once conquered the frozen wasteland.

Classic Pyramids
The pyramids of Egypt are known as one of the world’s wonders for good reason: they are an imposing sight, their method of construction has fueled a lot of debate, and their existence created plenty of conspiracy theories.

Hot Tub in the Cold
Just because it’s snowing outside isn’t a reason to not dive into a hot tub. After all, the idea is that you’re hot while in the water, right? Just avoid using it during the falling snow.

Switzerland
This panoramic view makes us want to leave everything behind to take care of sheep up in the mountains. Let’s just hope they have internet access up there.

Dive In
There’s a lake in Austria that, during spring, rises to cover the hiking trail. This only lasts a few weeks, and it makes for a great diving experience.

Clouded Mountains
The idea of Mount Olympus likely came from seeing how mountains could touch the sky, making it the ideal place for gods of all kinds to gather at the peaks. These images inspire us just like it did ancient Greeks back in the day.
