“Do you honestly think you’d have done anything different?” Briarcliff Entertainment has debuted the first official trailer for Trust Me, I’m a Doctor, a dark comedy film based on a true story from the early 2000s. Written and directed by filmmaker Thane Economou, this film is based on the memoirs of and focused on Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, as played by Kal Penn. It’s also about the infamous death of American model, actress, TV personality Anna Nicole Smith – who passed at age 39 in 2007 due to combined drug intoxication. Led by Kal Penn as Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, Linda Hamilton as renowned defense attorney Ellyn Garofalo, and Abbie Cornish as Anna Nicole Smith, the film explores the very intense legal battle and media frenzy that followed one of the most sensational celebrity cases of the early 2000s. Was it really his fault? Or was it all her fault? Or is there something more going on here? Trust Me, I’m a Doctor hits theaters in October this fall. Starring Penn, Hamilton, Cornish, along with David Julian Hirsh, Dhirendra, and Dan Willmott.
