Recently filmmaker Zack Snyder shared a photo of himself on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, the photo stirring speculation that the “Man of Steel” director may be involved in a DC project again.
Snyder and Warners parted ways back in 2021. Turns out, according to Page Six, he was actually there to host a screening of director John Boorman’s 1981 Arthurian epic “Excalibur”.
This has reportedly been a regular thing the studio has been doing to boost staff morale, which is quite low at this point due to the Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery $110 billion merger shenanigans leaving many in limbo.
Oliver Stone hosted a “JFK” screening while Patty Jenkins introduced a “Blade Runner” screening last week. Warner Bros. Pictures studio bosses Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy were on hand for a Q&A with Snyder for the event.
The pair, who took over Warners long after Snyder’s exit, may be bringing Snyder back into the fold soon, with the director’s upcoming “Escape From New York” at StudioCanal expected to fall under the company’s new multi-year and multi-territory agreement with Warners.
Snyder most recently helmed “The Last Photograph” which is currently in post-production. Prior to that he did his “Army of the Dead” and two-part “Rebel Moon” films at Netflix.
