The ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, both developed by ASUS, were first revealed in early June last year.
Now, one year on, ASUS has announced the ROG Xbox Ally X20 – a new version that will be essentially the same internals as the Ally X, but with a new 7.4-inch 1080p/120hz OLED display.
The screen boasts 1400 nits of peak brightness, 0.2 ms response time, FreeSync Premium Pro, Dolby Vision and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. A cooling system redesign will also direct heat away from the screen.
In addition, the newly translucent designed unit has new TMR joysticks, a transforming d-pad that goes from 8-way to 4-way when you rotate it, and ergonomic changes to the face buttons as well. There’s also a new action button to replace the library button, and a new light-up Xbox logo.
Marking the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Gamers brand, the handheld still boasts a Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of LPDDR5X memory and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage.
The catch? This only seems to be selling as part of a bundle alongside ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses with micro-OLED displays.
