Alan Cumming has confirmed there are still unrevealed characters in Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday”.

Speaking with Deadline, he says: “Sometimes there were secret names because they didn’t want to reveal that a certain character was returning, so they called them something else in the script. It was so confusing.”

He calls the film “superhero soup” as “there’s so many of them in it. I just can’t keep up,” but indicated his experience filming it was great, and leagues better than shooting “X2,” which was a “very, very wrong” working environment.

The film boasts a massive ensemble of characters with many of them having been revealed, including the “Fantastic Four” team, the “Thunderbolts” characters, several old school “X-Men” characters, several “Black Panther” characters and surviving “Avengers” like Thor, Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson/Captain America along with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

More interesting are the ones not confirmed at this time including Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Halle Berry’s Storm, and more.

The comments come as the film’s main star Robert Downey Jr. has made headlines for dismissing talk of influencers, telling the Conversations for our Daughters podcast: “When I hear people talk about, ‘Oh, the stars of the future are going to be influencers,’ I go, ‘I don’t know what world you’re living in, but I think that that is absolute horses—.”

“Avengers: Doomsday” is slated to hit cinemas in December.
