“Superbad” and “Peacemaker” director Greg Mottola has reportedly emerged as the frontrunner to direct the “Deathstroke & Bane” film in development at Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios.
Set to be a part of the DC Universe, at last report writer Matthew Orton (“Captain America: Brave New World,” “Moon Knight”) had submitted his script in to DC Studios chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran back in July.
The project is still in the early stages however according to Deadline who broke the news. They add that no script or contracts have been sent out yet so the project is still relatively early in development.
Bane and Deathstroke have appeared in live-action before – Tom Hardy played the former as the main villain of Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises,” while Joe Manganiello played the latter in a cameo at the end of the “Justice League” movie.
Both characters have appeared in multiple other media, the Bane character one of the big standouts of Max’s “Harley Quinn” animated series, whilst Deathstroke served as the second season villain of The CW’s “Arrow” and also appeared in “Titans”.
Both characters have become fan favourites over the years.
