If one is good, many must be better, right Hollywood? After 2011’s Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes confounded expectations by being really bloody good, the Apes movies have just kept coming.
Matt Reeves directed Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes, then Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes came along just a couple of years ago and still did good business.
So, inevitably, 20th Century Studios has announced that another film is to be made, and a report in Deadline now says that director Matt Shakman and writer Josh Friedman are on board. They last worked together on The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Producers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver return from previous installments.
Few details are known, except for that it will NOT be a continuation of Kingdom. It will be an original story.
Should we look back to what started in 1963 for clues?
