Everyone’s favourite sports coach is back. No, not Mike Vrabel. I’m talking about Ted Lasso.
The nicest man in popular fiction has returned for season 4 of Ted Lasso. When we last saw Ted, he (spoiler alert) returned to America after narrowly missing out on the English Premier League title. The sport is football, by the way. Real football. Where you use your foot.
Ted’s story was seemingly told, but you can’t keep a good cash cow down. He’s back to train the AFC Richmond women’s team.
This doesn’t automatically mean Ted Lasso has gone ‘woke.’ In truth, the show was pretty woke already, but it had enough heart, humour and smart writing to carry it through. I just hope we get to spend as much time in the locker room as we did in seasons 1-3.
Anyway, Apple TV has released a teaser for Ted Lasso season 4:
It looks like most of the cast have returned. I didn’t see Nick Mohammed’s Nathan Shelley, but that can’t be a bad thing. Phil Dunster’s Jamie Tartt is also not retuning. He is currently appearing in Steve Carrell’s new sitcom, Rooster.
The confirmed returning cast are Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Welton), Juno Temple (Keeley Jones), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard), and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins).
New additions to the cast include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Rex Hayes, Faye Marsay, Abbie Hern and Aisling Sharkey.
Ted Lasso will stream from August 5th on Apple TV.
