
HBO has premiered the teaser trailer for the third season of its original fantasy drama hit “House of the Dragon,” which returns Sunday, June 21st.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series is set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones” and tells the story of House Targaryen and the civil war that is known in Westeros as the Dance of Dragons.
The season is expected to open with the brutal Battle of the Gullet, blending naval conflict and dragon action. Rhaenyra Targaryen moves to seize King’s Landing, while Aemond Targaryen faces a downfall.
The third season cast includes Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, James Norton, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, Abubakar Salim, Tom Cullen, Tommy Flanagan, Dan Fogler, Joplin Sibtain, and Barry Sloane.
Behind the scenes are co-creator, showrunner and executive producer Ryan Condal; co-creator and executive producer George R.R. Martin; executive producers Sara Hess, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Vince Gerardis, David Hancock, and Philippa Goslett.
The eight-episode season will air new episodes weekly, leading up to the season finale on August 9th.
