
Lionsgate has premiered a second trailer for the musical comedy “Power Ballad,” which hails from celebrated “Once” filmmaker John Carney.
Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas lead the cast of the title, which debuted at the Dublin International Film Festival and arrives in select theaters on May 29th followed by a wide release on June 5th.
In the film, Rick (Rudd), a past-his-prime wedding singer, meets fading boy-band star Danny (Jonas) during a gig, and the two bond over music and a late-night jam session.
But when Danny turns one of Rick’s songs into the hit that reignites his career, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves.
Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Havana Rose Liu and Jack Reynor co-star in the film penned by Carney and Peter McDonald.
The film has pulled in a 92% score from 24 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and clocks in at 98 minutes.
