Though it’s still very early, a new report indicates Amazon is already looking ahead to a fifth season of its “Reacher” series based on the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child.
The Insneider reports “No official renewal yet, but Season 5 of REACHER is in the works at Amazon.” It’s not clear if shooting will take place this year.
The first season saw a gap of 7 months between the end of filming and release, the gap extending to 9 months for Season 2 and a strike-impacted 15 months for Season 3.
The series wrapped filming on its fourth season, based on the novel “Gone Tomorrow,” back in November/December last year. So logically it could arrive in the back half of 2026 or early 2027, with star Alan Ritchson previously indicating it is coming this year.
The added wrinkle is that the Maria Sten-led spin-off “Neagley” was shot between the third and fourth seasons and is expected to air first – likely in the Summer with “Reacher” Season 4 arriving towards year’s end.
The big question is which of the Reacher novels would be adapted next? Ritchson previously indicated his favourite of the Reacher books is the second one, “Die Trying”. Others like “The Hard Way,” “Worth Dying For” and “Tripwire” regularly do well in polls.
