With all the reboots, remakes and re-whatever they call it, now and then, something gives a spark of hope. I haven’t seen Highlander in a long time, but I remember the movie being entertaining. You had a good premise of a story, a killer soundtrack by Queen, and Sean Connery. What more do you need?
As you know, Highlander is getting a remake; uh oh. However, it stars Henry Cavill; OK. It’s being directed by the guy who made John Wick; interesting. We all have to admit, this reboot does sound intriguing.
This week, images have been emerging online of Cavill in a kilt and some of the set.
Well, he looks like a Highlander, with his long hair, rugged good looks and shirt. Change his hair to white, and you’ve got Geralt of Rivia. In fact, he will have a sword as well. If he calls his horse Roach, he’ll be back for Season 5 of The Witcher.
Filming of Highlander has been taking place in Eilean Donan Castle in Scotland. Here’s some behind-the-scenes footage.

As I said, it’s been a while, but Hawk says that this is the same castle as the original movie, which is nice if it’s true.
That cast is impressive: Cavill, Karen Gillan, Russell Crowe, Djimon Hounsou, Jeremy Irons, Kevin McKidd, and Dave Bautista. Here’s hoping Highlander will be good.
