The alternate-history space tv series drama For All Mankind is preparing to return with its fifth season on Apple TV+, continuing the long-running series created by Ronald D. Moore.

Since its debut, the series has explored a world where the space race never slowed down. In this timeline, the Soviet Union reached the Moon first, reshaping global politics and pushing the United States to accelerate its own ambitions in space exploration. Over four seasons, the story has expanded from the Moon to Mars, showing humanity building permanent settlements beyond Earth.

Season four ended with a major time jump, moving the story from 2003 to 2012. The fifth season begins in that same year, continuing the show’s steady progression through its alternate timeline. With decades of exploration behind them, humanity has already established a presence on both the Moon and Mars.

The next chapter raises a larger question: are humans alone in the universe? The possibility of intelligent life becomes a growing focus for scientists and astronauts. At the same time, tensions on Mars appear to be reaching a breaking point, threatening to disrupt the fragile balance of the expanding off-world colonies.

Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña, and Wrenn Schmidt return for the new season.

The new season will premiere globally on March 27, 2026, with new episodes released weekly every Friday.
