F1 Sequel
At the Apple TV press day in Los Angeles, F1 sporting president Stefano Domenical says while a sequel to last year’s “F1” is too early to announce, it’s looking like the tech giant and the sport will expand their deal beyond this film. He tells Formula1.com:
We’re going to tell you something more in the future. Never say never. But we need to digest the success of this movie more, because it was unique. And if you want to think of a new one, it has to be really, very, very good. Therefore, if this will happen, it will not be for next year. But maybe next year we’re going to be here [at the press day], and hopefully we have something more to announce [then].”

Tecmo Bowl
Tongal (“Piece by Piece”) is developing a feature film based on Koei Tecmo’s classic 1980s football arcade and NES game “Tecmo Bowl,” one that will “combine live action with animated gameplay sequences”. The studio plans to collaborate with its community of over 160,000 creatives on the project. [Source: Variety]
Tony the Tattooed Man
Tracie Laymon (“Bob Trevino Likes It”) will pen and direct a live-action film based on the 1992 action figure “Tony the Tattooed Man” at Mattel Studios. The novelty toy was a muscle-bound action figure that kids could decorate his body with soluble temporary tattoos applied by hand. The Robbie Brenner and Ivan Sanchez-produced film aims to be a “character-driven drama that blends surreal fantasy with emotional depth”. [Source: Deadline]
