HBO Max and A24 have reached a multi-year renewal of their Pay-1 distribution deal.

This means titles from A24 will have their SVOD premieres on HBO Max after their theatrical and PVOD releases.

HBO Max subscribers will continue to have access to dozens of the indie studio’s films throughout the course of the deal, making HBO Max the streaming home of much of A24’s library.

This will include the SVOD launch of “Marty Supreme” and upcoming A24 titles like “The Backrooms,” “The Drama,” “The Death of Robin Hood,” “How to Make a Killing,” “Enemies,” “Primetime” and “The Moment”.

Half of A24’s SVOD titles rank among HBO Max’s Top 10 movies within their first two weeks on the service. Almost 70% of HBO Max viewers who watched an A24 film returned for more, watching an average of 4 titles.

Similar third-party distribution deals currently exist between Focus Features and Peacock, Searchlight and Hulu, and Sony Pictures and Netflix.
