Another half-decade, another Robin Hood movie! If you don’t like one then do not worry. Another one will be along soon.
This time it is A24 having a crack at the English folk legend, and they have released their first trailer for The Death of Robin Hood.
This version is heralded as a grounded, visceral and darker take on the Robin Hood tale.
It follows an old age version of the title character grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder.
Now he’s a battle-worn loner who finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman who offers him a chance at salvation.
Hugh Jackman is Robin Hood, alongside Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe.
The role has been played by everyone from Errol Flynn to Kevin Costner, and even Russell Crowe, Taron Egerton, Cary Elwes, and Jonas Armstrong.
This is directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig, A Quiet Place: Day One) penned and directs the film, which Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, and Alexander Black will produce.
Principal photography began in early February 2025 in Northern Ireland. Filming had wrapped by late-March. It was shot on 35mm film.
