With the release of the series finale on New Year’s Eve, the fifth season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” has already joined Netflix‘s list of its most popular English-language TV titles of all time.
The season has reached 105.7 million views so far across all eight episodes, but the all-time list counts views across each title’s first 91 days of viewing.
When split into multiple volumes/parts, the 91-day window applies to each volume separately, and each total is added together.
That means the fifth season won’t hit its final numbers until March 31st – plenty of time to keep pushing it up higher.
The first season of “Wednesday” still remains the chart topper with 252.1 million views, followed by “Adolescence” with 142.6 million and the fourth season of “Stranger Things” in 2022 with 140.7 million combined.
The season was also the most-watched title of the week, December 29th-January 4th, on Netflix. With five days of availability on the finale, the final season reached 31.5 million views overall.
Netflix debuted the finale concurrently in cinemas, where it earned more than $25 million, with most of that going to exhibitors.
The four previous seasons also all made the chart for the week in third, fifth, seventh and eighth place. Harlan Coben’s “Run Away” came in second with 12.7 million views.
