Just like the internet ruined p0rn, now AI is ruining the internet. Everything from clips to memes now has to give you pause, and instead of taking some simple joy from digital silliness, you have to stop and think, “Is this AI?”

One of the worst areas for this is online movie trailers and news. As we search the internet for interesting movie and entertainment news to bring you, we have to wade through a veritable sea of digital filth. Absolute bullshit fucktardery of the highest order, and not just the insane fantasies of SnyderBros. We are talking about the scourge of AI trailers. Even if it takes mere seconds to ascertain that they are not genuine, that is still seconds of life we are not getting back.

It seems some major players share our disdain for this bullshit, as YouTube has terminated two very high-profile fake AI movie trailer factories. Unfortunately, not with a drone strike.

A report in The Wrap says that India-based Screen Culture has been terminated. We cannot confirm rumors that anguished cries of “Do not redeem it!” were heard from Mumbai before the button was pressed.

Closer to home, Georgia-based KH Studio has also been removed.

Between them, the channels had over 2 million subscribers and more than a billion views, meaning they were heavily monetised and were actually outranking the official movie studio channels, including trumping them on search results. That was never going to be allowed to stand by Hollywood, was it?

Both channels recieved a warning, and after a brief period of playing by the rules, they went right back to their old games again, so the trigger was pulled.

An official statement reads:

“After their initial suspension, these channels made the necessary corrections in order to be readmitted into the YouTube Partner Program. However, once monetizing again, they reverted to clear violations of our spam and misleading metadata policies, and as a result, they have been terminated from the platform.”

Google is also in on the game, after Disney lawyers fired up their cease and desist machine and went to work. Fake AI trailers are being removed from Google search results as we speak.
