Could that title be any longer? Yes, the Looney Tunes are back, and they are preparing for The Day the Earth Blew Up. Here is a trailer, although it’s more of a teaser.
There seems to be a lot of butt jokes in there. I don’t recall Daffy and Porky doing those in the past. The rest of the trailer isn’t giving much away.
Looney Tunes: The Day the Earth Blew Up stars just Mel Blanc. Sadly, Mel is no longer with us, so the cast for the movie is Eric Buzza, Candi Milo, Peter MacNicol, Carlos Alazraqui, Fred Tatasciore, Laraine Newman, Wayne Knight and Kimberly Brooks.
Peter Browngardt directs The Day the Earth Blew Up, and it was written by eleven people, and the story was consulted on by four other people. That can’t be good, right? A total of 15 people worked on the story. The story is:
Porky Pig and Daffy Duck are Earth’s only hope when facing the threat of alien invasion.
Does it take 15 people to write a script like that?
Hot off the press
The rest is from the press release we were sent. Porky Pig and Daffy Duck, one of the greatest comedic duos in history, are making their hilarious return to the big screen in the sci-fi comedy adventure.
From Warner Bros. Animation, director Pete Browngardt, and the creative team behind the award-winning Looney Tunes Cartoons. Looney Tunes: The Day the Earth Blew Up stars Porky Pig and Daffy Duck as unlikely heroes and Earth’s only hope when facing the threat of alien invasion.
