Veteran actor Jason Isaacs (“Harry Potter,” “The Patriot”) is the latest to join the cast of the live-action “Tomb Raider” series at Amazon Prime Video.
Details of his role are under wraps, as are any story details. Isaacs is coming off an Emmy nomination for “The White Lotus” and films like “Eleven Days” and “The Julia Set”.
Isaacs marks the fourth casting for the project, following former “Game of Thrones” alum Sophie Turner as Lara Croft, British actor Martin Bobb-Semple in an unspecified role, and Sigourney Weaver in what’s reportedly a villain part.
The series was first announced in January 2023 when British actress/writer and Emmy winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge was attached to create, write scripts, and executive produce the series.
Chad Hodge is also on board as executive producer and co-showrunner. Jonathan van Tulleken will serve as director and executive producer on the series, which will begin filming on January 19th.
The show is expected to involve Lara Croft as an already established adventurer and archaeologist, and have a 1990s vibe.
