Well, this looks fun and exciting! There I go again, getting my hopes up. You would think I might have learned my lesson by now. Still, Project Hail Mary is from the guys behind The Lego Movie and the SpiderVerse franchise, Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
The Amazon MGM Studios movie is also based on a novel by the author of The Martian, Andy Weir. It is written for the screen by Drew Goddard. So far, so good.
Now the full trailer for Project Hail Mary is here, showing us more of Ryan Gosling as astronaut Ryland Grace. He awakens on a spacecraft with no memory of himself or his mission but slowly deduces that he is the sole survivor of a crew sent to the Tau Ceti solar system in search of a solution to a catastrophic event on Earth.
In his search for answers, Grace must rely on his vast array of scientific knowledge, sheer ingenuity, and human will… but he may not have to search alone, as this trailer reveals.
The teaser landed in July and was the biggest trailer launch in Amazon MGM Studios’ history, with 400 million views. The studio will be hoping that views and interest translate into theater tickets.
Sandra Hüller and Milana Vayntrub co-star. Project Hail Mary will open in theaters on March 20th, 2026.
