I do love a documentary about a good movie. Well, there is a new documentary coming out about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, simply called Chain Reactions.
Patton Oswald has such a distinctive voice. Since typing is still a pain, the rest is from the press release.
Chain Reactions is an exploration of Tobe Hooper’s cult-classic. Featuring never-before-seen outtakes and interviews with Patton Oswalt, Takashi Miike, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Stephen King and Karyn Kusama.
Directed by Alexandre O. Philippe (Lynch/Oz, The Origins of Alien), the doc had its World premiere at the Venice Film Festival last year. Before screening at a string of international festivals – including BFI (London), Night Visions (Finland), Sitges (Spain) and MIFF (Australia).
It was fifty years ago that Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre shocked the world. This feature-length documentary charts the film’s profound impact and lasting influence on five great artists – Patton Oswalt, Takashi Miike, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Stephen King and Karyn Kusama.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Chain Reactions to audiences in the UK & Ireland. As a huge fan of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which I first watched on a beaten-up VHS tape. It’s a dream come true to work on this project. Chain Reactions takes a deep dive into one of the most significant independent films of all time and is a must-watch for horror fans!” – commented Commercial Director, Matthew Kreuzer.
Chain Reactions will be available on Digital and Blu-ray from 27th October.
