Guillermo del Toro’s passion project, a new adaption of Frankenstein, has a new trailer.

The Netflix production has reviewed well at festivals this season, and now it is ready for general release.

In the 19th Century, a brilliant yet egotistical scientists experiments take a dark turn. He brings to life a creature that will lead to his own downfall and damn his tragic creation.

Oscar Isaac is Victor Frankenstein, with Jacob Elordi as the creature.

Mia Goth is Victor’s fiance Elizabeth Lavenza, with Felix Kammerer as Victor’s younger brother, Lars Mikkelsen as Captain Anderson, Christoph Waltz as Victor’s benefactor Henrich Harlander, and Charles Dance as Victor’s father Leopold Frankenstein.

Lauren Collins, David Bradley, Ralph Ineson, Sofia Galasso and Burn Gorman round out the cast. Alexandre Desplat is on music duty.

The lavish gothic horror has a budget of $120 million.

 

Frankenstein will be released in select theaters on October 17th before Netflix on November 7th.
