Well, we knew it was coming. The first trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu movie has arrived. I don’t know about you, but I can barely contain my apathy. May 2026 can’t come slow enough.
Star Wars fatigue aside, this trailer seems a little off to me, but maybe that’s a good thing. Disney Wars has specialised in producing great trailers for terrible movies, so perhaps a mid-trailer will produce…something even worse?
So what are the highlights of he trailer? There is nothing much to see story-wise, so it’s not clear what the stakes are for The Mandalorian and Grogu. But it’s always good to see Ellen Ripley herself, Sigourney Weaver, make an appearance.
The big reveal seems to be that the little fella can talk now. It’s about time. He’s fifty years old.
There is an official synopsis for The Mandalorian & Grogu:
“The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu.”
The Mandalorian and Grogu will be the first Star Wars movie since 2019 and will drop like King Kong’s first turd of the day in May 2026. May the force be with us all.
