After an eight-year absence, Oscar-winning filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow (“Point Break,” “Strange Days,” “The Hurt Locker”) returns with her next feature “A House of Dynamite”.

Netflix has now officially set the movie’s release with a limited theatrical run in early-mid October ahead of the film’s premiere on the streamer on October 24th.

In the film, a single, unattributed missile is launched at the United States and a race begins to determine who is responsible and how to respond. It was previously reported that the film unfolds within the White House and in real time.

The impressive cast includes Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, Kaitlyn Dever, Tracy Letts, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Jonah Hauer-King, Greta Lee, Jason Clarke, Malachi Beasley, Brian Tee, Brittany O’Grady, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Willa Fitzgerald, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Kyle Allen.

Noah Oppenheim (“Jackie,” “The Maze Runner”) penned the project and recently created the conspiracy thriller limited series “Zero Day” for Netflix.

Bigelow was also previously attached to an adaptation of David Koepp’s apocalyptic novel “Aurora” but dropped out a year ago.
