A new 30-second TV spot has been released by Universal Pictures for Jurassic World: Rebirth. Alongside it, a short featurette has also gone online featuring the cast and crew talking about the new movie.
Jurassic World: Rebirth stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Ed Skrein. It is directed by Godzilla, Rogue One, and The Creator director Gareth Edwards.
According to the blurb, it is set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, and the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived.
The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind. Johansson plays a covert operations expert contracted to lead a team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from those dinosaurs.
Of course, they always have to find a way to shoehorn goddamn kids into these movies, so here they will connect with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by aquatic dinosaurs.
When they all find themselves stranded on an island, they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery about the original Jurassic Park that’s been hidden from the world for decades.
Everyone connected with this instalment speaks of a more horror-focused tone, potentially in line with the original novel, which was a frightening gore-fest.
Jurassic World: Rebirth is slated to open in cinemas on July 2nd.
