Yesterday came the news that Robert Pattinson is in talks to play a villain in Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Messiah,” the third and last of the filmmaker’s Arrakis-set features.

A report a month ago from the Hungarian National Film Office back in July indicated that the movie is set to begin filming there on July 7th and will run through to late September with filming presumed to take place in other locations as well.

That raised eyebrows as Pattinson previously indicated that the long-delayed “The Batman Part II” sequel will begin shooting during the fourth quarter of 2025 – meaning little to no downtime between the projects for the actor.

That may not be the case now as sources for Nexus Point News have revealed that production on the next “The Batman” film is likely being delayed again – specifically to early next year.

Matt Reeves has been working on the film’s script since late 2022 but only seemingly appeared to finish it last Fall. Months later, DC Studios chief James Gunn indicated that the script still hadn’t been submitted to the studio.

Around that time the film’s release was pushed back by a full year to October 1st 2027. If it sticks by that date, an early 2026 start of filming would be perfectly in line with a blockbuster filming schedule.
