Screenwriter and producer Akiva Goldsman is reportedly teaming with Legendary Television to develop multiple TV series titles based on classics from the catalog of legendary filmmaker and TV producer Irwin Allen.

Allen, who produced “The Poseidon Adventure” and “The Towering Inferno,” created four notable sci-fi series, the most famous being the legendary “Lost in Space” which was rebooted by Legendary and Netflix from 2018-2021.

Now, Deadline reports that Goldsman and Legendary are working on similar reboots of Allen’s other three sci-fi series – “The Time Tunnel,” “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea,” and “Land of the Giants”.

The pair are reportedly “crafting a unified vision for these stories” with the aim of bringing modern sensibilities to their appeal. Jon Jashni will also serve as executive producer, guiding the shows to reintroduce these franchises to a new generation.

“Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” was a sci-fi and espionage series following the crew of a futuristic nuclear submarine that defends the planet from threats ranging from foreign governments to aliens and sea monsters.

“Land of the Giants” follows the crew of a sub-orbital space vehicle that was shrunk after getting caught up in a sandstorm.

“The Time Tunnel,” said to be Allen’s personal favorite of all his shows, sees two scientists jump through time and those left behind attempt to bring them back to the present.

There are no plans for any further “Lost in Space” at the present. Goldsman has long had sci-fi TV experience on shows like “Fringe”. More recently he co-created “Star Trek: Picard” and remains the chief architect of the critically acclaimed “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds”.
