A former Mr. Fantastic has wished good luck to the cast of the upcoming “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” at Marvel Studios.
“Top Gun: Maverick” alum Miles Teller played the role of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in the ill-fated 2015 reboot of the property produced by 20th Century Studios.
The Josh Trank-directed film followed in the wake of the two previous Tim Story-directed films that had an Ok reception and pretty decent financial success. The hope was it would potentially score more acclaim and box-office – it failed on both fronts.
The new one will be set in the MCU and stars the likes of Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Vanessa Kirby and Ebon Mass-Bachrach. Speaking with THR at the premiere of his new Apple TV+ film “The Gorge,” Teller says he hopes their film avoids the fate of his:
“I’ve known Pedro for a couple of years, man I’m wishing them all the best. I don’t wish anybody to be a part of a bomb, it’s just a marker on your career that for some people takes longer to get over than others. I just wish them the best.”
He adds that he’s seen the teaser and: “It looked fantastic, I’m very excited for them.” “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” opens in cinemas in July.
