Brad Pitt will re-team with his 2014 “Fury” director David Ayer on the filmmaker’s new action adventure film “Heart of the Beast” at Paramount Pictures and Plan B Entertainment.
The story follows a former Navy SEAL and his combat dog amid their attempts to find civilization after suffering a catastrophic accident which has left them stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness.
The SEAL also had a heart attack and, while he survived, can’t work or exercise too intensely or he’ll have another and likely die. The pair must traverse difficult terrain on limited rations to try and get to the nearest highway.
Cameron Alexander penned the film, which has been in development for nearly a decade. “La La Land” filmmaker Damien Chazelle will produce alongside Ayer, Pitt, Chris Long and Olivia Hamilton.
‘Beast’ is expected to be the next film for Pitt following his work on Joseph Kosinski’s “F1” which will release this June. Pitt is also slated to re-team with George Clooney on a new “Ocean’s 11” film at a later date.
Pitt recently executive produced such films as “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” “Nickel Boys,” and the upcoming “Mickey 17”.
