Just yesterday, a number of outlets online, us included, reported that The Batman director Matt Reeves had not ruled out his Batman being taken in by the DCU. This has been kiboshed pretty quickly by the director who is in the frame to introduce Batman to the DCU – IT and The Flash filmmaker Andy Muschietti.

He was on an Argentinian radio station Radio TU when, according to a report from Reel Anarchy he was asked about Batman: The Brave And The Bold, and whether Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne would, in fact, now be in the DCU.

Muschietti was clear in his response. This is not his plan:

“As everyone knows, the Batman featured in The Brave and the Bold will belong to the new DC universe. It’s quite obvious that Matt Reeves’ Batman is not part of this new universe.”

Muschietti then gave some background into the current state of play:

“Releasing two Batman films simultaneously would be counterproductive. What DC is doing is creating a strategy to ensure these two films don’t conflict with each other. Regarding my involvement in the project, there are good intentions for now. They want to do the movie with me, and I want to do it as well. I’m eager to work on the film. We are talking about the story and the tone.”

So there it is, one opinion. I bet it doesn’t stop the speculation though.
