Apple Vision Pro
Apple has reportedly ended production of their $3,500 mixed reality Vision Pro headset in the wake of low demand and plenty of unsold stock. The headset launched in February in the U.S. last year and Apple once had an internal sales target of one million units during its first year – a number revised down by half according to a Financial Times report over the Summer.

Now, The Information is reporting that Apple now has a sufficient number of Vision Pro units in its inventory to meet demand for the device’s remaining lifespan through to next year. As a result, it could stop making the current version of the device completely by the end of 2024. A second-generation is reportedly in development. [Source: VGC]

Wicked
Actress Cynthia Erivo says she “will raise hell if this lady does not get her nomination,” referring to her “Wicked” co-star Ariana Grande and her work as Galinda/Glinda in the first film. She adds: “it’s a really f—ing hard job to jump into the middle of something like this and have it be your first time.”

Grande has scored a Best Actress nomination at the Golden Globes this Sunday. Erivo has been twice Oscar nominated and has won an Emmy, Grammy and Tony. [Source: Variety]

Downloaded Shows
For a good chunk of the 2010s, HBO’s “Game of Thrones” was the most illegally downloaded TV series online, and it wasn’t even close. Now, its spin-off successor “House of the Dragon” has topped the list in 2024, the show’s second season coming in at #1 again after the first season did so in 2022 (HBO’s “The Last of Us” topped the list in 2023).

TorrentFreak (via WorldScreen) published the rankings list, revealing that “The Boys” came in at #2 followed by “Shogun,” “Arcane,” “The Penguin,” “Fallout,” “Reacher,” “Silo,” “Dune: Prophecy” and “Halo”. Surprising, Netflix showed up a lot despite its huge market share amongat the streamers.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew
