Disney Pictures has released a second teaser trailer for its live-action adaptation of the 2002 animated hit film “Lilo & Stitch”.
This trailer is expected to be attached to copies of “Mufasa: The Lion King” which hits cinemas on Friday and, like the first trailer, it’s themed to the movie it’s premiering with
The new “Lilo & Stitch” was originally slated to premiere directly on the Disney+ service but the studio has since opted to go out theatrically with the movie.
Dean Fleischer Camp helms the project which reimagines the story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family.
Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, with Courtney B. Vance, and Zach Galifianakis star with newcomer Maia Kealo playing Lilo.
The project was first proposed in 2018 but hit multiple delays due to the pandemic, writer & director changes, a set fire, and last year’s actors strikes.
“Lilo & Stitch” opens in cinemas May 23rd 2025.
