As a response to the massive success, the studio is moving forward with a qiuck digital release of the original 2002 film “28 Days Later” to hit online this coming Wednesday (Dec. 18th) for purchase and rental.

It marks the first time the original film has been available on digital in many years as, until recently, it has only been available via secondhand discs selling for exorbitant prices or those who purchased digitally back in the 2010s.

Alex Garland returns to pen the script for the new film which stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell along with a cameo from Cillian Murphy. It marks the first of a new trilogy of films in the series – each with a budget said to be in the range of $75 million.
