Amazon says their “Cross” series, based on James Patterson’s bestselling novels, has amassed 40 million viewers globally in its first 20 days on the streamer. The series debuted with all eight episodes on November 14th.

That series reportedly had the third most-watched premiere of the year, behind only “Fallout” (65M in 16 days) and “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 2 (40M in 11 days). The title has reached No. 1 in more than 100 countries and more than 55% of the audience is international. [Source: Deadline]

Old Man’s War
Once he wraps his new sci-fi film “The Dish” which will shoot in February in New Jersey, filmmaker Steven Spielberg is rumored to be lining up an adaptation of John Scalzi’s bestselling sci-fi series “Old Man’s War” as a potential new project reports DanielRPK (via World of Reel.

Currently in development, the story centers on 75-year-old widower whose consciousness is transferred into a genetically enhanced, youthful body to fight in the military. The catch? John finds himself fighting alongside the younger version of his late wife – a stranger’s mind now in her body.

The Madness
The Colman Domingo-led thriller series “The Madness” was the most-watched streaming original in the U.S. by far during the week of November 29th-December 5th according to analytics firm Luminate.

The show racked up 2.2 billion minutes in its first full week on Netflix, the highest numbers seen since “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” launched to 2.7 billion minutes in late September. [Source: Variety]

Gladiator II
While Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator II” box-office has been alright, it has paled in comparison to both the Broadway musical adaptation “Wicked” and Disney’s animated “Moana 2”. Both those films are dominated by musical numbers.

“Gladiator II” star Paul Mescal used his “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig this weekend to appear in a mock trailer for “Gladiator: Twosical” which promises to take the Ridley Scott episode and add 50 minutes of new songs. Check out the video below.
