Philip Barantini (“Boiling Point”) is reportedly attached to direct a third film in the “Enola Holmes” franchise at Netflix reports Deadline.
Deals are not closed yet, but franchise star Millie Bobby Brown is expected to return with the trade indicating it will be her next project once she completes work on the final season of “Stranger Things”.
The previous two films were based on the famous book series Nancy Springer and saw Enola following in the footsteps of her famous brother, Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill), solving mysteries all across London.
Sources for the trade say Barantini’s take on the material won the streamer over with the title going a “little darker and skew a little older”. The comparison made is that of “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” as compared to the first two films.
The first film premiered in 2020 with the second one out in 2022, Henry Cavill co-starred with Brown in the films but it’s not clear as yet if he’ll return here.
Millie Bobby Brown, Bobby Brown, Mary Parent, Ali Mendes and Alex Garcia will produce.
