Following his confirmation last night that a fourth “Spider-Man” will begin filming next Summer, actor Tom Holland is again talking up his upcoming work whilst out promoting his new non-alcoholic beer brand.
Appearing on Good Morning America today, Holland was asked about how “Spider-Man 3” is progressing and he re-iterated they were going to shoot next Summer and they are “super close to having a creative that I think is really worthy of the fans” and are confident that the idea is strong enough to move forward with.
He then adds that don’t expect it to quite follow the formula of his previous films:
“The idea is crazy, it’s a little different to anything we’ve done before um but I think the fans are going to really respond well.”
Holland also discussed the news from earlier this week that he’s joining filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s next feature at Universal Pictures. He’s co-starring with Matt Damon, but no further specifics have been revealed yet and Holland can’t say much:
“All I can say is that I’m incredibly excited, and obviously honored but that’s all I can say because to be honest that’s really all I know.”
When the interviewer asked if he signed up for a Christopher Nolan movie sight unseen because it’s Christopher Nolan, Holland responded:
“100% yeah without a shadow of a doubt. When when it came in, the opportunity came in, it was the phone call of a lifetime – reminiscent of getting that call about Spider-Man 10 years ago like it was… it’s an amazing thing for me I’m super proud, and uh yeah – I’m really really excited.”
Holland is expected to film the Nolan movie in the first half of 2025, along with a potential appearance in “Avengers: Doomsday,” before shooting “Spider-Man 4” across the back half of 2025. Nolan’s film will open July 2026 and “Spider-Man 4” should arrive late 2026.
