Disney has shaken up its release calendar with several Marvel shifts, one straight calendar pull, and the dating of a key sequel.

It has long been expected, but now it has finally happened – Marvel Studios’ “Blade” reboot will not be coming out on November 7th 2025.

The news is not unexpected as the lack of a director and no start of filming in sight meant that making that date would be a near-impossible task for the film. Eric Pearson is still reportedly at work on the film’s script.

Instead, Disney will release its “Prey” follow-up “Predator: Badlands” on that release date instead. The Elle Fanning-led film will be helmed by “Prey” director Dan Trachtenberg and is reportedly set in the future.

That’s not all though. Marvel Studios has also announced three dates in 2028 it is setting aside for films – February 18th, May 5th and November 10th.

The changes mean we now have three MCU films in 2025 – “Captain America: Brave New World” in February, “Thunderbolts*” in May and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” in July.

2026 and 2027 both have dates for three films set but the two new “Avengers” films in May of each year are the only titles confirmed so far. Presumably “Blade” will take one of those slots, and the list doesn’t include Sony’s “Spider-Man 4” which will likely arrive in that window.
