After teasing us with the back of John Cena’s helmet the other day, DC Studios chief James Gunn has offered another photo from the currently in production second season of the John Cena-led “Peacemaker” for HBO.

Gunn captioned the photo ‘Who might this be?’ and the shot shows off a mysterious individual who appears to possibly be Native-American, but there’s enough shadow that it’s not clear.

The new run of the series has been filming since April in Atlanta and is expected to wrap shortly at Trilith Studios. The new season is set in the same universe as Gunn’s “Superman” film, it’s expected to come out sometime after that film releases on July 11th 2025.

The second season is written by Gunn with Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee and Robert Patrick all returning.

They’ll be joined by Frank Grillo as Rick Flagg Sr., Sol Rodríguez as Sasha Bordeaux and David Denman in an unknown role. How the series will accommodate the shift from the DCEU in the first season to the new DCU in the second remain a mystery.

Gunn and Peter Safran serve as executive producers on the series, with Cena as co-executive producer. The photo comes as Gunn has also confirmed this week that work is still going on in regards to the Themyscira-set “Wonder Woman” prequel series “Paradise Lost”.
