Actor Sebastian Stan is back out there standing up for Marvel Studios whilst out promoting his work in the Trump biopic “The Apprentice” this week.
The actor made headlines three weeks ago for his comments about the criticism Marvel has faced in regards to its works in recent years, saying it is “really convenient to pick on” Marvel for the overall woes of the industry.
He said that they are a “big part of what contributes to this business and allows us to have smaller movies as well… it feeds in so many more ways than people acknowledge”. He then added he gets protective of it as their intentions are ultimately good.
Cut to this week where he spoke with GQ Magazine and says he doesn’t have time for the criticism if it’s not at least constructive or offers a better alternative:
“I’ve never been part of a company that puts so much heart and thought into anything. I think if Marvel was gone, it’d be such a big hole to try and fill up. Don’t just go out there and s— on something without offering something better.”
He doesn’t seem surprised by the Marvel backlash though as, whilst talking about his casting in the Trump film, he says: “Is there anything out there now that doesn’t get backlash? You can’t worry about what people think.”
Stan will be returning to Marvel next year with the release of “Thunderbolts*” in which he reprises his Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier role.
He is also rumored to cameo in “Captain America: Brave New World,” and tells the outlet he hopes to have a scene with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in the next “Avengers” movie: “I hope I’m in a scene with him. Is there any other guy that could pull that off? I don’t know, probably not. After Tropic Thunder, is there anything that guy can’t do?”
