Grammy winner Tyler the Creator will make his film debut alongside Timothee Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow in Josh Safdie’s new film “Marty Supreme” at A24.
Safdie and Ronald Bronstein penned the film and though plot details are under wraps, it’s reportedly set to revolve around ping pong. [Source: Variety]
Friendship
A24 has secured rights to the Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd-led comedy “Friendship” which premiered at Toronto as part of the Midnight Madness program.
Andrew DeYoung wrote and directed the film about a suburban dad (Robinson) who obsessively pursues a bond with his charming neighbor (Rudd). Kate Mara, Jack Dylan Grazer, Josh Segarra and Billy Bryk also star. [Source: Variety]
Onslaught
“Hit Man” and “Andor” actress Adria Arjona is in final negotiations to star in and executive produce filmmaker Adam Wingard’s new gonzo action horror thriller “Onslaught” at A24. The project films in New Mexico later this year.
Arjona will play a mother who falls back on a particular set of skills in order to protect her loved ones after she runs afoul of a threat that has escaped a secret military base. Wingard re-teams with his “You’re Next” and “The Guest” co-writer Simon Barrett on the film. [Source: THR]
Mickey 17
Warner Bros. Pictures has released a brief tease to announce the news that it will release the first trailer tomorrow for Bong Joon Ho’s long-awaited sci-fi thriller/dark comedy “Mickey 17”. The film marks his first directorial effort since Oscar Best Picture winner “Parasite”.
Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun, Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette, Naomi Ackie, Holliday Grainger and Angus Imrie star in the film about a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim.
